We arrive with the plan from your site walk, run cable, mount and aim each camera, set up your phone, and walk you through it before we leave. Most small sites take one to two days.

Who shows up?

Our own technicians. We don't use subcontractors, so the people in your building work for Foresight Security, the security department of SolutionsIT.

That matters later too. The team that installs your system is the same team you call when you have a question. You are not handed off to someone who has never seen your site.

What do we bring with us?

The plan from your site walk. It shows where each camera goes, what it should see, where the recorder or network gear sits, and how the cable gets there.

Because the plan is settled before we arrive, install day is about doing the work, not deciding it. If something on site has changed since the walk, such as a new shelf in front of a door, we talk to you before we change anything.

What happens during the day?

The work usually goes in this order:

  1. Cable runs. We run cable from each camera spot back to the recorder or network. We keep it clean and tidy, through ceilings and walls where possible.
  2. Mounting. Each camera goes up at the height and angle in the plan. Outdoor cameras get proper housings and sealed cable entries, because in a Manitoba winter those matter more than the camera.
  3. Aiming. We aim each camera at what it is meant to see. A gate camera set up for plates is aimed differently from a wide view over a yard.
  4. Recording and alerts. We set up recording, on site or in the cloud, and the alerts you asked for, such as a vehicle entering after hours.
  5. Testing. We check every camera, day view and night view where we can, before we leave.

Will my business have to close?

Usually not. Most owners keep working while we install. There is some noise, ladders and the odd ceiling tile out of place for a while.

If there is a busy time of day, such as a morning rush at a store in Morden, tell us. We plan the noisy work around it where we can.

What is the walkthrough?

Before we leave, we set up the app on your phone and on any desktop you use. Then we walk you through it with your own cameras on the screen:

  • How to see live video
  • How to find a moment in recorded video
  • How to save and share a clip, for police or an insurer
  • What the alerts look like and how to change who gets them

Bring anyone else who will use the system. It is easier to show three people once than to explain it again later.

How long does it take?

Most small sites take one to two days. A larger site, such as a shop with a yard outside Winkler or a property with several buildings, takes longer. You get the timeline with your quote, so you know what to expect before we start.

What happens after we leave?

We document the install: where each camera is, how it connects, and how it is set up. That way anyone on our team can support it later.

If something stops working, call the same number. Most fixes happen remotely, and when one can't be, the team that did your install comes back out.
